The Doll Muse has Returned
For the past year or so, I've had little interest in making dolls. I just totally lacked the inspiration to give one life. Well, I guess it's another weird side-effect of the move, but I now am inspired to make dolls. I have all these ideas floating around in my head and I really want to give them life.

My first doll from this new burst of inspiration is Masego. Masego means blessings. She is a natural goddess that loves bringing happiness to everyone she meets. Masego is a pin doll. She's meant to be worn.

If you would like to adopt Masego, she can be adopted at my etsy shop or at Cherie Anne Designs at the York Central Market.

Shop Updates

I've been a busy little girl lately. The other night I had the urge to dig out my jewelry tools and beads. I created several pendants during my little jewelry frenzy. I love the way beads catch the light. Even though, I am primarily a fiber artist, I do enjoy a little jewelry making. It spurs my creativity.
I've added two of my pendants to the etsy shop. The one on the right is called "Mia." It's named after the character in the Princess Diaries movies. I just love the way the pink beads catch the light. It's such a light Spring piece. The other day I saw a prom dress in a shop window that would go great with this pendant; the dress was just a simple pale pink dress with little beads on it that look like the clear beads in this pendant.
My other pendant creation is a little more dark and Gothic. I love the look of goth jewelry. I guess it's a good thing I look good in black. This pendant is called "Arsenic" and it just reminds me of Victorian mourning jewelry. It's just beautiful, elegant, and mysterious. Perfect for the femme fatale.
I have a few more simple pendants to post yet, but I need to finish the pictures of them. I'll keep you posted.

Finding Peace in Knots
It's summer time here and I've been getting a lot of customers at the stand asking for hemp jewelry. So, I dug out the hemp string I have and began making some jewelry. I forgot how fun hemp can be to work with. There is just something soothing about making lots of little knots. Yesterday I had a knot in my back between my shoulder blades, can we say tension. As I was working on the above necklace, the knots began to loosen up and I began to relax. I find lots of things meditative in the craft word. I just forgot how meditative making hemp jewelry is. Now I just need to find a way to make jewelry in traffic.

Strawberries Cream & Mint

Sounds more like an elegant desert than a pair of earrings. This is a simple little pair that I've made. I think they turned out beautifully. I love the soft, summery colors that look great on just about anyone. I wish I had had more of the square beads, they would have made an awesome necklace or bracelet. I'll have to keep my eye out for more. I have them for sale at the Central Market stand and I hope to get them posted online within the week.
